LE's ALMASOL® has been on every
manned U.S. space mission.
Versatile Products with Un-Equaled Performance
Lubrication Engineers® products are designed to give unequaled performance in virtually any application under operating conditions that vary from normal to severe. They have dedicated their resources to continually provide customers with high performance, consistent quality products. LE's products are manufactured under an ISO 9001:2000 certified quality system.

Un-Interrupted Supply
Even under conditions of temporary shortages, an uninterrupted supply is assured through LE's huge inventory of the highest quality base stocks.

Research & Development
The LE R&D group continually investigates advanced technology to develop tomorrow's lubricants. LE's own additive company, The Almasol Corp., perfected wear-reducing additives which have been used on every US manned space mission. You benefit from LE's exclusive and proprietary additives, the use of superior base oils and technology.

Superior Paraffinic Base Oils
LE's petroleum lubricants contain 100% Mid-Continent paraffinic base oils. Using special refining techniques, these base oils have a saturated molecular structure similar to the synthetic PAOs. Thus, they offer excellent oxidation resistance, superior lubricity, long life and few deposits or sludge. While there are a number of crude oil sources around the world, U.S. Mid-Continent is acknowledged as the best for lubricating oil. Mid-Continent sources include Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma.

ALMASOL®
A proven advancement in in the science of lubrication. ALMASOL® is a solid film lubricant additive available exclusively from Lubrication Engineers®. This soft, tan powder is processed under exact conditions by LE's wholly-owned subsidiary, the Almasol Corporation. ALMASOL® particles are so small that it would take approximately 8000 of them to cover the period at the end of this sentence.

ALMASOL® is added to LE products to amplify the protection every user needs to receive from a quality, high performance lubricant. Incorporated into oils and greases, these microscopic particles are evenly and permanently dispersed. ALMASOL® is also processed into dry or solid film lubricants. This technology has been used on every manned U.S. space flight, including every space shuttle mission. ALMASOL® greatly reduces friction and wear while withstanding very high loads and temperatures up to 1900°F (1038°C).

MONOLEC®
A wear-reducing additive that creates a mono-molecular lubricating film on metal surfaces. Even highly polished metal surfaces are far from smooth. Viewed microscopically, they resemble a mountain range with jagged peaks known as asperities. The distance between these peaks and valleys may be as much as 15 microns. MONOLEC® works by filling these microscopic holes on a metal surface, reducing the friction between two sliding layers.

The benefits of MONOLEC® include:
  • Reduces wear by reducing friction
  • Reduces power requirements
  • Disperses quickly and uniformly
  • Does not build up or fall out
  • Acts synergistically to improve the performance qualities of other components in oils and greases.
  • Lower operating temperatures
  • Performs in both oils and greases
  • Has no negative side-effects

DUOLEC™
LE's new unique and proprietary additive, DUOLEC™, is specifically developed for use in gear oil applications. DUOLEC™ is a dual-acting liquid additive that shares attributes of both LE's ALMASOL® and MONOLEC® while offering even better wear protection. The product incorporates revolutionary new technology that is thermally activated to provide dual levels of anti-wear and extreme pressure (EP) protection. These layers form a solid-like protective layer on the metal surface. This layer then fills surface asperites, effectively smothing the surface and minimizing the effects of metal-to-metal contact, thereby reducing friction and preventing welding and surface wear.

QUINPLEX®
A proprietary LE additive that provides water and moisture resistance. QUINPLEX® gets its name from the five principal characteristics it imparts to lubricants:
  • Water Resistance — When dispersed in greases and oils, aids in forming a barrier that resists water spray-off.
  • Tackiness — Provides LE products with an extraordinary ability to adhere to the applied surface. Lubricants with QUINPLEX® stay at the point of lubrication longer and greases resist "pound-out".
  • Cohesion — When used in greases, enhances the coupling of the oil with the thickener.
  • Mechanical Stability — In it's pure form, QUINPLEX® is very thick and has an almost solid appearance. This characteristic improves the overall mechanical stability of the grease.
  • Corrosion — QUINPLEX® forms a barrier against corrosion. Lab tests on pure QUINPLEX® demonstrate that its resistant to concentrations of strong acids. It also shows resistance to strong bases and oxidizing agents.
QUINPLEX® provides longer equipment life, longer lubricant life, increased load carrying capabilities, less equipment downtime and maintenance costs, unprescedented water resistance and extraordinary adhesive properties.

PYROSHIELD®
PYROSHIELD® products have superb load carrying capacities and provide extreme pressure protection and high load carrying ability. The products are very versatile and are available in three NLGI grades while meeting the needs of manual and heavy-duty automatic lubrication systems. They have excellent adhesiveness and water resistance which allow the lubricant to stay in place, resist shock loading and reduce noise factor in large gears. They operate over a wide temperature range and do not thin or run. They remain pumpable at low temperatures and will not harden, flake off or become brittle in cold temperatures. PYROSHIELD® will benefit users by extending uptime, increase equipment life and use less lubricant.

Combined with ALMASOL®, MONOLEC®, QUINPLEX® and PYROSHIELD® are many different types of additives which improve the quality of the lubricant:
  • Anti-Oxidants: Resist the formation of acids, sludge, varnish which can increase oil viscosity
  • Extreme Pressure (EP) and Anti-Wear Agents: Protect against shock loading, scuffing, galling, adhesive wear and abrasive wear
  • Corrosion Inhibitors: Protect against rust and corrosion
  • Foam Inhibitors and Air Release Agents: Reduce foaming and air entrainment
  • Demulsifying Agents: Enable the lubricant to separate from water faster
  • Viscosity Index Improvers: Increase the operational temperature range of the lubricant
  • Detergents: Keep equipment parts "clean" in high temperature operations and protect parts from rust formation
  • Dispersants: Suspend foreign bodies within the lubricant by preventing them from collecting on engine parts to form sludge and varnish
  • Pour Point Depressants: lower the solidification temperature of the lubricant
